Is it possible in the lightbox view to have captions under the image rather than on top of it?
Yes! With the Lightbox Studio plugin, you can fully customize how captions are displayed in the Lightbox view. You can choose to show captions either directly over the image or below it, depending on your preferred presentation style. Here are the available options:
Caption Position:
- Overlay (on the image)
- Below the image
Caption Display:
- Always visible
- Hidden
Special Note for Gallery Grid Sections Users:
By default, Squarespace's Gallery Grid sections don’t display captions in the Lightbox view. However, Lightbox Studio overcomes this limitation by collecting the Gallery section captions and displaying them within the Lightbox. You can even hide captions on the main gallery while showing them exclusively in the Lightbox.
