What is Squarespace Plugins

A Squarespace ‘plugin’ is a pack of HTML/Javscript/CSS snippet that help you achieve some specific task which Squarespace not supported by default such as: adding 360° Product Photography, animated Heading block.

What is a Custom Block

Custom Block is a special plugin that injected directly into Squarespace editor, like a Text Block or Summary Block. With Custom Block, users can edit the block parameters just like other ordinary block using block UI editor such as: content, color, style….

There are 2 parts of a custom block, one is to injected into Squarespace admin UI and the other one is used to functioning the block on the frontpage.

Are the custom blocks provided by Squarespace

Beyondspace’s custom blocks and plugins are not created by Squarespace, we we are not affiliated with Squarespace to create these. The plugins take advantage of custom code injection feature of Squarespace, therefore Squarespace will not support when issues happen, I handle all the errors during integration process.

Is it safe to use the plugins

Most of plugins can not access to user’s sensitive information, since the custom code injection is based on Javascript only. Though Squarespace has regular updates over time, that may compromise some plugins features (this apply to any plugins from any providers)

How to install plugins

User will be provided intruction to install the plugins, most of the time it’s copy-and-paste snippet into Code injection section of the page or the site. For the custom blocks plugin, after install, user will be able to create it from admin panel and modify each block content and settings there.
