How to import Squarespace Orders data to Google Sheet

In the last post, we have explorered the way to export Squarespace Orders data into .csv file, while the kind of file can be opened with any text editor, you may find it is most useful to import into a Spreadsheet application like MS Excel or Google Spreadsheet, utilizing a spreadsheet can facilitate the transfer of data between systems, such as moving data from your store to your CRM for analysis.

Import CSV files in Google Sheets

If you have an account in Google, you can use the free Google Sheets spreadsheet editor to open and edit your CSV files.

To open a Squarespace Orders CSV file:

  1. Export the Orders in the suitable date range and download it to your device.

  2. Go to Google Sheets and create a blank sheet.

  3. Go to File → Import.

  4. Switch to the Upload tab and then click Browse.

  5. Locate the saved file and click Open.

  6. On the opened popup,

    1. choose the separator (delimiter) or set it to be detected automatically,

    2. and untick Convert text to numbers, dates, and formulas.

  7. Select an Import Location.

    1. Create new spreadsheet: Create a spreadsheet from the imported data in a new browser tab.

    2. Insert new sheets: Adds new sheets with the imported data to your existing spreadsheet.

    3. Replace spreadsheet: Replace the open spreadsheet with the data in your imported file.

    4. Replace current sheet: Replace the current sheet’s contents with the imported data.

    5. Append rows to current sheet: Adds the imported data to the current sheet after the last row with any data.

    6. Replace data starting at selected cell: Replace the data in a range of selected cells with the imported data

  8. Then click the Import data button
